The sequel to Sony’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has rounded out its directing team. According to Variety, Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson will helm the highly anticipated film.
While it was previously reported that Dos Santos had joined the project, the trio has been working together from the start. They are joined by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg, who are all returning to produce.
Dos Santos’s previous credits include Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Justice League Unlimited, and more. Thompson worked as a production designer for the first Spider-Verse. Lastly, Powers is currently nominated for the Oscar for best-adapted screenplay for the film One Night in Miami. Additionally, he served as co-director for Pixar’s Soul.
Further details on the film are still scarce, but hopefully, this rumor is a sign of more to come soon. The studio has yet to reveal what additional Spider-Men will appear in the film; however, it has been teased the Japanese Spider-Man will make an appearance.
