Lucy Liu To Play Villain Kalypso In ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’

New Line and DC have added another star to the cast of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. According to The Wrap, Luci Liu has signed on to play the villain Kalypso.

Liu joins recent additions to the film Helen Mirren and West Side Story star Rachel Zegler. The trio will serve as the film’s antagonists opposite Zachary Levi’s Shazam, the superpowered adult form of Billy Batson played by Asher Angel.

According to the report, Liu will play the second daughter of Atlast, Kalypso. She is also the sister of Mirren’s character Hespera. While Zegler’s role has not been confirmed, it is believed she will play the third sister.

David F. Sandberg is returning to direct the sequel with a screenplay penned by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan. Moreover, Geoff Johns will produce the feature alongside Peter Safran (Aquaman).

The film stars Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, and Jovan Armand as Billy Batson’s foster siblings. Additionally, Zachary Levi, Meagan Good, Michelle Borth, Ross Butler, D. J. Cotrona, and Adam Brody play older, superpowered versions of the ragtag team of siblings.
