‘Powerpuff’ Set Video Reveals First Look At Blossom, Bubbles & Buttercup

When it was first announced, The CW would produce a live-action sequel series to The Powerpuff Girls; many wondered what the characters would look like. Well, now, thanks to new set footage, fans have the first look at Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup, respectively.
The new footage features the now adult girls outside of their childhood home. The trio appears to be heading out on a mission of some kind as Blosson is seen flying off while Bubbles and Buttercup are running in the same direction. Additionally, it looks like the first look at Donald Faison as Professor Utonium can be seen in the back of the shot.

Originally created by Craig McCracken, the original show ran for 78 episodes from 1998 to 2005. The series featured a super team of little girls accidentally created by Professor Utonium when he combined sugar, spice, and everything nice with the mysterious Chemical X. The sequel series follows the heroes as disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting.
The Powerpuff pilot hails from writers and executive producers Heather Regnier and Diablo Cody. While it does not yet have a full series order, the casting of three multitalented performers could sway the creative forces at The CW Network to give it the greenlight. Additionally, Greg Berlanti (Supergirl), Sarah Schechter (Free Guy), and David Madden (Save The Last Dance) will executive produce as well. Warner Bros Television has tapped Maggie Kiley (Some Boys Don’t Leave) will direct the pilot.
