‘Overlord’ Star Jovan Adepo Joins Cast of Damien Chazelle’s ‘Babylon’

According to Deadline, Overlord star Jovan Adepo has joined the star-filled cast of Damien Chazelle’s next highly-anticipated project, Babylon.
Adepo starred alongside Denzel Washington in the award-winning Fences, HBO’s Watchmen, and is currently on CBS’ The Last Stand. He joins an all-star cast that (currently) consists of Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt in an undisclosed role.
Babylon is the latest Damien Chazelle project hailing from Paramount Pictures about Hollywood in the 1920s. The plot revolves around the revolutionary moment when films shifted from silent to talking (talkies). The rights to the movie were acquired in 2019, but the pandemic forced production to move back. Despite the delay, the film is set to premiere on Christmas in 2022.

Adepo is a consistent collaborator with Paramount, the studio that distributed Fences and JJ Abrams’ WWII zombie film, Overlord. Joining Chazelle’s next movie post-La La Land is a major career development, which seems to be balancing IP-centric work and award-season darlings.
