Alysia Reiner Joins The Cast Of ‘Ms. Marvel’ In Undisclosed Role

Marvel Studios’ upcoming Ms. Marvel series on Disney+ has added yet another star to its cast. Actor Laith Nakli confirmed Sunday on his Instagram that Orange Is the New Black‘s Alysia Reiner has joined the show.
Nakli, who shared on his social media that he had wrapped filming on the series, was the first to announce Reiner’s casting. It was not revealed who she may portray in the show.

Created by G. Willow Wilson, Sana Amanat, Stephen Wacker, Adrian Alphona, and Jamie McKelvie, the character debuted in 2013’s Captain Marvel #14. Khan, a Pakistani American from New Jersey, comes across powers that allow her to have the ability to stretch her body and change her shape. She is also the first Muslim superhero to star in her own titular comic book series. In the comics, Khan is an Inhuman, a race of altered humans experimented on by the Kree.
Hailing from head writer Bisha K. Ali the series will introduce Kamala Khan to the MCU. Ms. Marvel is one of many series Marvel Studios is developing for Disney+ to introduce new characters into the MCU, with the other shows being She-Hulk and Moon Knight. Following their Disney+ debuts, the characters will reportedly move into films and appear alongside other heroes.
