Zack Snyder’s ‘Justice League’ To Assemble Original Cast For Additional Shooting In October

This summer has been filled with news, hype, and sneak peeks at the fabled “Snyder Cut” of DC’s Justice League. Ever since director Zack Snyder made his intentions to complete and release his true vision for the film, fans have been eager to know just what to expect. As first reported by THR, Snyder will assemble the original cast of Justice League to shoot additional footage in October.
The news is rather interesting due to the current relationship between Warner Bros and Cyborg actor Ray Fisher. For months, an internal battle has been stewing between the two parties as Fisher’s allegations of racist and inappropriate behavior from Joss Whedon and Geoff Johns came to the light. However, it appears Fisher, who is a longtime supporter of Snyder and his vision for the film, will report to set and reprise the role that made him famous. Moreover, Fisher will be joined on set by Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ben Affleck, and Jason Momoa.
The “Snyder Cut” will air on HBO Max as a four-part limited series. Additionally, Warner Bros will reportedly look to release all the entire four-hour saga theatrically at some point. The director also revealed that the “Snyder Cut” will include fully fleshed out versions of The Flash and Cyborg with each hero getting significantly more time on-screen.

Following a family tragedy, the director had to step down in the midst of post-production on the film. Joss Whedon, writer/director of The Avengers, was then brought on board to oversee additional photography. Many fans felt that Whedon’s quippy sensibilities didn’t mesh with Snyder’s darker version of the super team. The film received negative reviews from fans and critics alike and launched a worldwide movement to release Snyder’s full vision.
Audiences have clamored for the “Snyder Cut” ever since the theatrical release. The movement came to a head last November when stars Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot tweeted out the hashtag. Since then, support for the cut of the film had only picked up steam, and now the wishes of the fans have finally been answered. Additionally, now fans all have a few seconds of the actual film to pour over for the next several months.
