RUMOR: Chris Hemsworth Eyed For Lead Role In ‘Furiosa’ Spinoff

The Marvel star may be joining another iconic franchise very soon. According to Collider’s Jeff Sneider, Chris Hemsworth is being eyed for a lead role in the Mad Max spinoff film focused on Furiosa.
It has been reported that Warner Bros. has begun development on a Max Max spinoff focused on Imperator Furiosa from Fury Road. There have been several reports on who may star in the cast with Jodie Comer, the front runner for the part only for Anya Taylor-Joy’s name to join the discussion. Additionally, actors Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Richard Madden have also been eyed for lead roles. Now, according to Sneider, Hemsworth is being eyed for the role of Dementus.

The character is described as having a deeply scarred face with chrome covering the rest. Beyond this, not much is known about the role. Nevertheless, it is rather exciting to hear Hemsworth could be joining the franchise.
According to reports, Miller hopes to begin shooting the spinoff next year in 2021. It is unclear how far along in development the project is. It was previously reported that legal disputes between Miller and Warner Bros. had delayed the development of the fifth film in the franchise.
