Julianne Moore To Star In & Produce A24’s ‘Sharper’

A24 is without a doubt one of the most revered movie studios in Hollywood. Their offerings like Uncut Gems and Moonlight have gone on to receive praise from fans and critics alike. Up next, as first reported by Deadline, the studio will team with Apple for a new film titled Sharper with Julianne Moore attached to star.
Per the initial report, Moore will play a con artist in Manhattan’s billionaire echelon. The actress will produce the film as well alongside Alessandro Tanaka, Brian Gatewood (The Sitter), Bart Freundlich (Catch That Kid), and Erik Feig (Step Up). Additionally, the film’s screenplay was written collaboratively by Gatewood and Tanaka.

At this time, no further casting announcements have been made. However, this endeavor marks the second landmark project between Moore and Apple. Previously, the versatile actress signed on for the Apple TV+ limited series Lisey’s Story. The series is based on Stephen King’s 2006 novel and will be produced by J.J. Abrams.
A24 distributes and produces around 18 to 20 films a year. Up next for the studio is Kelly Reichardt’s First Cow, starring John Magaro. Moreover, Moore continues to carve out an impressive, award-winning career. In 2019, the actress appeared in the After the Wedding remake and The Staggering Girl. Up next for the Crazy, Stupid, Love actress is a starring role in the Gloria Steinem biopic The Glorias alongside Alicia Vikander, Bette Midler, and Janelle Monae.
