Disney+ Developing Live-Action ‘Percy Jackson’ Series

Fans of the classic series pleas’ have finally been answered. Author Rick Riordan has revealed that Disney+ is developing a live-action Percy Jackson & the Olympians.
Ever since Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief failed to perform critically and at the box officer, there’s been a push for a new adaptation of the books it was based on. So when Disney+ launched, fans began to campaign for the streaming service to develop a series, something Riordan himself was behind.
Well, Riordan and his wife Becky Riordan released a video on Twitter announcing Disney+ was actively developing the series. They also released a statement clarifying some of the details concerning the series. You can check it out below:

According to Riordan, the show will follow the five-book series beginning with The Lightning Theif in Season 1. The author also revealed that he and his wife will be fully involved in every aspect of the show. And based on Riordan’s phrasing, it sounds like the studio is already planning far ahead into the future for the franchise.
