Seth Rogen & Sarah Silverman Set For Animated Christmas Comedy At HBO Max

With HBO Max set to launch in just a few short weeks, fans are eager to see what awaits. From original content to an impressive catalog of films and TV shows, HBO Max will enter the streaming wars with an impact. As first revealed by Deadline, an animated adult Christmas comedy series is in development at the streaming service.
Seth Rogen and Sarah Silverman will voice the main characters in Santa Inc. The series will run eight half-hour episodes. Silverman stars as Candy Smalls, a high-ranked female elf in the North Pole. The series follows the successor of the Santa Claus, voiced by Rogen, who is swiped by Amazon. However, Smalls sees it as an opportunity to become the first female Santa Claus.
The series will be written by Alexandra Rushfield, best known for her work on Parks & Recreation. Suzanna Makkos, EVP Original Comedy, and Animation at HBO Max, expressed her excitement for the series in a statement.
“I have long dreamed of a taking a beloved holiday tradition and adding a feminist agenda and some R rated comedy. When I read this script from Ali, with Seth and Sarah attached to voice, I knew that it was a perfect fit for us.”

Rogen and Evan Goldberg serve as executive producers. Moreover, the series is a part of HBO Max’s overall deal with Lionsgate. Additionally, Lionsgate Head of Scripted Development Scott Herbst says “Sarah and Seth are the perfect comedy duo for this empowering and very funny animated series shepherded by the hysterical Alexandra Rushfield.”
Previously, Silverman endeared herself to fans all over the world in her famous portrayal of Vanellope von Schweetz in Wreck-It Ralph and its 2018 sequel. Additionally, Rogen has experience in the voice booth with roles in Kung Fu Panda and The Lion King.
