‘Secret Warriors’ Potentially In Early Development At Marvel Studios

It appears yet another Marvel property is now in development at Marvel Studios. According to Geeks WorldWide, a Secret Warriors project is in early development.
The Secret Warriors were introduced by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev in 2008’s The Mighty Avengers #13. The group is comprised of superpowered agents assembled by Nick Fury during the Skrull’s invasion of Earth. The original team roster was comprised of Daisy Johnson’s Quake, Phobos, Yo Yo Rodriguez, Hellfire, Sebastion Druid, and Stonewall.

The team has previously appeared in the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. led by Quake. Most recently, the team was adapted into an animated series on DisneyXD titled Marvel’s Rising: Secret Warriors.
Currently, it is unclear if the new project will be a film or Disney+ series, but the latter seems most likely. Given the long-form benefits of a series, it would give Marvel the space to introduce and develop the team’s members. Some have speculated the project could be based on the team presented on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but that remains to be seen. Marvel is looking for a writer for the project and, as with all MCU projects, Kevin Feige is set to produce.
