Netflix Eyeing Michael B. Jordan For Lead Role In ‘Prodigy’ Adaptation

It appears that Netflix is looking to cast some big talent for its Prodigy adaptation. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Netflix is interested in Michael B. Jordan for the film’s lead role, Edison Crane.
Created by writer Mark Millar and artist Rafael Albuquerque in 2018, Crane is the lead character in Prodigy. Not content being the world’s smartest man and most successful businessman, Crane’s brilliant mind always needs to be challenged. He is a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, genius composer, Olympic athlete, an expert in the occult, and now international governments are calling on him to fix problems they just cannot handle.
Prodigy was the second comic book collaboration between Mark Millar and Netflix after the company acquired Millarworld. The first being of The Magic Order.

It was recently reported that Eternals scribes Matthew and Ryan Firpo will pen the script for the adaptation.
Now thanks to a breakdown from Richtman’s Patreon, it has been revealed Netflix is interested in Jordan playing Crane.
Jordan has worked with Netflix in the past, so it is not too far-fetched for the actor to take the role. The 33-year-old actor executive produced and starred in the series Raising Dion. The series was focused on a single mother who must hide her young son’s superpowers to protect him from exploitation while investigating their origins and her husband’s death.
Will Packer and James Lopez are producing the film.
