‘Eternals’ Scribes Tapped To Write Film Adaptation Of Mark Millar’s ‘Prodigy’ For Netflix

Eternals, the latest project from Marvel Studios, will change the future of the MCU. Additionally, it is likely to make more moviegoers familiar with actors attached to the project like Brian Tyree Henrey and Lia McHugh. However, the filmmakers behind the camera are also likely to see a career boost as well. As first reported by our friends at Discussing Film, Eternals screenwriters Matthew and Ryan Firpo will pen the script for the upcoming film adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book series Prodigy.
In 2018, it was announced that the legendary comic creator sealed a deal with Netflix to produce a number of new series. The streaming service purchased the rights to all comic created and published under Millar’s Millarworld brand. Additionally, Matthew Firpo and Ryan Firpo also penned the script for Ridley Scott’s Mimi From Rio and the upcoming film The Motor City Girls.

Prodigy, created by Mark Millar and artist Rafael Albuquerque, ran for six issues from December 2018 to June 2019. The series focuses on the world’s smartest man and most successful businessman Edison Crane. The story’s official synopsis details Crane’s constant need to be challenged. Moreover, after winning Olympic Gold Medals and the Nobel Prize, Crane works with the world’s governments to solve problems.
The film will be Will Packer and James Lopez (Little). No actors or directors attached to the project at this time.
