Paul Bettany To Star in Cambridge Analytica Drama From The Russo Brothers

For two decades, Paul Bettany has been a mainstay in Hollywood. However, his stock truly began to rise upon joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S., Tony Stark’s trusted artificial intelligence and, later, The Vision. As first reported by Observer, Bettany will once again team up with MCU directors Joe and Anthony Russo in a new film from AGBO.
Bettany will star in an upcoming drama about data consultant Christopher Wylie. Wylie was a central figure in Facebook’s 2018 data privacy scandal connected to Cambridge Analytica. The film will be based on the true events surrounding the scandal. Moreover, the film features a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, best known for their groundbreaking work in the MCU as well.

Bettany will play Alexander Nix, the CEO of Cambridge Analytica. Nix is the catalyst for the entire story as he Wylie to work the data collection. The actor will certainly bring his unique brand of intensity for such a controversial story. The film is produced by The Russo Brothers with David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) set to direct.
Up next for Bettany is a starring role in the Disney+ series WandaVision. Alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Bettany will reprise his role as The Vision in what is being teased as one of Marvel’s most ambitious projects to date. Additionally, The Russo Brothers are teaming with Barack and Michelle Obama to produce Exit West for Netflix. The filmmakers will also direct Tom Holland in their upcoming film Cherry.
