William Jackson Harper & Aya Cash To Star In Jeff Rosenberg’s ‘We Broke Up’

Following the series finale of NBC’s hit comedy The Good Place, series star William Jackson Harper lands his next role. As first reported by Deadline, Harper and The Boys actress Aya Cash will co-headline Jeff Rosenberg’s new indie film We Broke Up.
The film will focus on Doug and Lori (Harper and Cash), a longtime couple who break up just days before Lori’s little sister gets married. However, in order to maintain a semblance of peace and order, the couple decides to pretend they’re still together until the weekend is over. Predictably, the charade winds up backfiring in hilarious ways throughout the events of the film.

Additionally, the ensemble includes Sarah Bolger (The Spiderwick Chronicles) and Tony Cavalero (The Dirt) as the couple to-be-wed. Moreover, Peri Gilpin (Fraiser), Zak Steiner (Euphoria), Azita Ghanizada (Good Trouble), and Emily Pendergast (Veep) round out the cast.
The film will be directed by Rosenberg with a script co-written by him and Laura Jacqmin (Grace & Frankie). Previously, Rosenberg worked on TV shows like Veep, The Good Place, and Documentary Now. Aya Cash can be seen in FX’s Fosse/Verdon and season one of The Boys as Stormfront. Meanwhile, Harper became a fan-favorite thanks to his memorable turn as Chidi Anagonye on The Good Place. Additionally, the actor appeared in 2019’s Midsommar.
