Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali & Tati Gabrielle Board Tom Holland’s ‘Uncharted’

A live-action adaptation of Sony’s Uncharted video game franchise is finally beginning to take shape. Following the exit of director Travis Knight, Venom‘s Reuben Fletcher stepped in to helm the upcoming Tom Holland-starring film. As first reported by Variety, the cast has been bolstered with the addition of the legendary Antonio Banderas.
Banderas is fresh of a nomination in the Best Actor category at the 92nd Academy Awards. However, the Pain and Glory star lost to Joaquin Pheonix’s performance in Joker. Nevertheless, Banderas remains one of the most recognizable actors of all time thanks to his roles in films like Evita and The Mask of Zorro. The actor also appeared in last month’s Dolittle in a villainous role. Banderas could very well play a similar role as an antagonist in Uncharted.

Additionally, Banderas is joined by Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle as well. Ali is perhaps best known for her role in Grey’s Anatomy. Meanwhile, Gabrielle appears in shows like The 100 and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. While their roles are currently unknown, they will likely star as well-known Uncharted characters Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazer.
Tom Holland will star in the film as Nathan Drake. Last year, Mark Wahlberg joined the film in the role of Drake’s mentor Victor Sullivan aka Sully. Additionally, Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway penned the most recent version of the script for the film.
