RUMOR: Marvel Considering Alicia Vikander For Kate Bishop In ‘Hawkeye’

With Hailee Steinfeld’s schedule in flux, Marvel Studios may be looking elsewhere for its Kate Bishop. According to insider Daniel Richtman, Tomb Raider star Alicia Vikander is being considered for a lead role in Hawkeye.
It was initially reported late last year that Steinfeld was in talks to play the young archer. However, it was later revealed her contract with Apple may prevent her from starring in the highly anticipated Disney+ series. Marvel has stayed quiet in regards to their search for Kate Bishop, but luckily Richtman has revealed some exciting news on his Patreon.
During a Q&A, Richtman explained that Marvel is looking at multiple actresses in case Steinfeld is unable to sign on for the role. The studio is reportedly looking at several stars similar to the Steinfeld, most notably Vikander. The Swedish actress is best known for her roles in Ex Machina, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and for playing Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot.

In addition to Vikander, Richtman also mentioned that Marvel Studios is also looking at Shailene Woodley for Kate Bishop. Woodley rose to fame for her role in The Fault in Our Stars and has since starred in the Divergent trilogy and the television series Big Little Lies.
While Vikander and Woodley are both older than Steinfeld, they seem to fit the look Marvel is going for. It should also be noted that neither actress may officially be in talks for the role; instead, they may be who the studio is considering as a replacement.
