Zachary Levi & Cole Sprouse To Star In Musical Comedy ‘Undercover’

Lionsgate is reportedly moving forward with a new film from Hot Tub Time Machine director Steve Pink with some big-name actors. As first reported by Deadline, Zachary Levi and Cole Sprouse will co-star in the upcoming comedy Undercover. Levi confirmed the news via his Instagram account.
Per the initial report, Levi will play a character named Jack. Jack is described as a “down-on-his-luck rocker-turned-father. However, to make ends meet, he secretly joins a group of young musicians in a wedding cover band led by Ben,” played by Cole Sprouse. The film will feature music performed by the cast. Undercover was written by Amy Talkington (Avalon High). Moreover, Mandeville Films’ Alex Young serves as executive producer.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President Nathan Kahane commented on the news via an official statement.
“Like School of Rock and Pitch Perfect, Undercover is a movie that unites audiences with the way the cast interprets and performs familiar songs. Not only is it hilarious and charming, but it’s going to be a blast to see personalities like Zachary and Cole own their performances of so many classics.”
In 2019, Levi starred in one of the most favorably-reviewed DC films Shazam! A sequel is in development with production beginning this year. Additionally, Sprouse currently stars in The CW’s hit show Riverdale as Jughead Jones.
