Marvel Studios Reportedly Developing ‘Secret Invasion’ Series

Marvel Studios could be adding to its ever-expanding television slate. According to Bleeding Cool, Marvel is working on a Secret Invasion show.
In Bleeding Cool’s report, they claim that fans will be getting a series based on Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu’s Secret Invasion comic. In the event, it was revealed a number of key Marvel figures were, in fact, Skrull’s in disguise who were in the process of planning an invasion. The series will reportedly tie in with the Captain Marvel films.
The fact Marvel is developing a Secret Invasion project is interesting given the Skrulls in the MCU are far different from the comics. While the comics have portrayed the shape-shifting alien race as evil, the films have made them peaceful refugees. How this will be adapted into the series is unclear, but will undoubtedly be interesting.

The second series in development at Marvel Studios is more in line with the current series, such as Loki, WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It will reportedly focus on an A-List star from the MCU, giving the character more room to break out and establish themselves. Bleeding Cool noted that fans should expect someone on the level of Loki rather than say Vision. Most of the currently announced Disney+ series are focused on more earth-based characters, so perhaps fans could see the focus shift to the cosmic side of the MCU.
