Another iconic character will join DC Universe’s most popular show. According to Discussing Film, the upcoming third season of Titans will introduce a new character in Barbara Gordon, aka Oracle.
The report adds that they’re currently looking for an actress, preferably one that uses a wheelchair, for a hefty supporting role when the series returns this fall. No longer Batgirl, the former-superhero will have earned the position as Commissioner of the GCPD following the death of her father James Gordon.
With an already stacked cast, it’s difficult to imagine how another important character such as Barbara Gordon will be able to fit in. In addition to Gordon, it’s being reported from another source that Roy Harper, better known as Arsenal, will join the crew in Season 3.
First appearing in Detective Comics #359, Barabra Gordon is the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon and a prominent member of the batfamily. She fought alongside Batman and co. for years as Batgirl, until the Joker severely injured her spine, making her a paraplegic and forcing her to fight a crime a different way. Known as Oracle, Gordon provided intelligence and computer hacking services to assist her fellow superheroes, eventually becoming a founding member of the Birds of Prey.
