Marvel’s ‘Hawkeye’ Series Reportedly Delayed Indefinitely

Disney+ is in the process of bolstering its content with a bevy of live-action series set within the MCU. However, a series previously announced for the streaming service starring an original Avenger may be dead in the water. As first reported by insider Charles Murphy, Marvel Studios has delayed its Hawkeye series indefinitely.
The delay comes after the actor’s ex-wife, The Wingman actress Sonni Pacheco, has accused him of disturbing, abusive behavior toward herself and their daughter amidst an ugly custody battle. It is currently unknown whether this played a part in the decision to shelf the series. Per Murphy’s initial report, the series might not start production until 2021.

Additionally, Disney+ looks to move ahead with other exciting Marvel projects. Casting for Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight are quickly developing while the premiere of WandaVision is now set for 2020. Hawkeye will focus on a post-Avengers: Endgame Clint Barton as he looks to train Kate Bishop to become the new Hawkeye. Additionally, the series would reveal the archer’s humble beginnings.
Early reports claimed Marvel Studios had eyes on Dickinson actress Hailee Steinfeld for the role of Bishop. Moreover, Mad Men scribe Jonathan Igla was set to write the series.
What do you think? Are you disappointed that Hawkeye has been delayed for an unforeseeable amount of time? Sound off in the comments below!
