‘Maze Runner’ Director Wes Ball To Develop New ‘Planet Of The Apes’ Film

Fox has brought in fresh talent to develop another entry in the Planet of the Apes franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Maze Runner architect Wes Ball will direct a new film based upon the novel by Pierre Boulle.
Ball is best known for directing all three films in the Maze Runner franchise, based on James Dashner’s 2009 novel of the same name. In 2017, he signed on to helm the movie adaptation of Mouse Guard, with Andy Serkis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster attached to star. Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox in April 2019, the studio pulled the plug on the film only weeks before production was set to begin.
