John Turturro To Play Carmine Falcone In Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’

Matt Reeves has found another adversary for his Caped Crusader. Transformers actor John Turturro joins The Batman as legendary crime boss Carmine Falcone.
The veteran character actor is most well known for his turn as the eccentric and intense bowler, Jesus Quintana, in the Coen Brothers film The Big Lebowski. Tururro has since made waves in pop culture after starring in the Transformers franchise, and giving an Emmy-nominated performance in The Night Of.
Reeves himself revealed the casting news via his official Twitter account. Check out his post below:

Created by Frank Miller and artist Dave Mazzucchelli, Falcone first appeared during the Batman: Year One story in Batman #405 (1987). The villain was Gotham’s most powerful crime boss during the early years of Batman’s career.
The Batman is rumored to follow Bruce Wayne working a detective case regarding strange murders that occur all over Gotham. He’ll have to dig deep into the underworld of the city and its rich history to solve the conspiracy, one that puts all of the city’s villains as suspects.
Earlier this year, Robert Pattinson spoke with Variety in a tell-all interview about the film’s direction: “I really like Matt Reeves and his setup for it. This is an interesting direction. It’s something from the comics which hasn’t really been explored yet. It’s crazy shoes to fill. It is interesting the different directions you can take with it and that the, in some ways, quite a specific character actually has a lot of leeway. When you look at the different tones of the movies and TV shows, you can do quite a lot with it.”
