‘The Batman’: Recent Juilliard Grad Jayme Lawson Joins The Cast In Unknown Role

Director Matt Reeves has been hard at work rounding out his cast for his upcoming film The Batman. Recent additions have included Andy Serkis and Colin Farell as Alfred and The Penguin, respectively. As first reported by Collider, recent Julliard graduate Jayme Lawson has been cast in the film in an unspecified role.
This has to be one of the biggest gets for a recent drama graduate. With no IMBD or Wikipedia page to speak-of, she is getting her career off to a hot start. During her time in school for the fine arts, she has snagged highly sought after roles on stage in local productions like Romeo & Juliet and Hamlet.

Speculation has already begun on social media that the actress will play Babara Gordon. With Westworld star Jeffrey Wright confirmed to play Commissioner Jim Gordon, it is likely that his daughter, the future Batgirl, would play a role in the film as well. However, at this time, her role is being kept under wraps.
Earlier this year, Robert Pattinson spoke with Variety in a tell-all interview about the film’s direction: “I really like Matt Reeves and his setup for it. This is an interesting direction. It’s something from the comics which hasn’t really been explored yet. It’s crazy shoes to fill. It is interesting the different directions you can take with it and that the, in some ways, quite a specific character actually has a lot of leeway. When you look at the different tones of the movies and TV shows, you can do quite a lot with it.”

The Batman will hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
The film will star Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, Jayme Lawson and Andy Serkis.
