Andy Serkis In Talks To Portray Alfred Pennyworth In ‘The Batman’

It looks like Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne has found his Alfred. According to The Wrap, Matt Reeves has cast Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman.

Serkis and Reeves are no strangers as they have worked together previously on the critically acclaimed Planet of the Apes trilogy. So it will be very exciting to see the two work together once again.

First appearing in Batman #16 in 1943, Alfred Pennyworth is Batman’s trusted butler and a vital member of the Bat-family. He served as a father figure to Bruce growing up in the wake of his parents’ deaths and has become an essential part of the Batman mythos. The character has been portrayed in the past by many actors, including Michael Gough, Michael Caine, and Jeremy Irons.
