Robert Downey Jr. To Return As Iron Man For Disney+’s ‘What If…?’ Series

Earlier this year, Avengers: Endgame broke box office records all over the globe. However, it also broke the hearts of Marvel fans as the events of the film caused the demise of Tony Stark AKA Iron Man. Fortunately, it appears Robert Downey Jr. isn’t quite ready to step away from the role entirely.
Jeff Goldblum is currently making the media rounds to hype his Disney+ series The World According To Jeff Goldblum. The eccentric actor, who portrayed The Grandmaster in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok recently revealed during an interview that the man who started it all in the MCU will lend his voice to an episode of What If…?, Marvel Studios’ first animated series.
“I played the part again a couple of days ago. I went to the Disney studios and I recorded the Grandmaster’s voice for an episode of a show that’s gonna be on Disney+ that’s called What If…?,” Goldblum told a BuzzFeed. “It’s an animated version of all the characters we know and love from Marveland this episode included the Grandmaster and Iron Man, so Robert Downey will do a voice for that, and Korg. Taika Waititi had already recorded his voice for that, so yeah, for a couple hours I enjoyed doing that.”

Tony Stark’s legacy will remain in the MCU. The events of Spider-Man: Far From Home heavily relied on Peter Parker attempting to live up to Iron Man. Additionally, it’s been reported that the actor will appear as the billionaire philanthropist in next year’s Black Widow.
What If…” on Disney+ is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious projects in recent memory. Marvel’s Expanding The Universe special on Disney+ revealed the stories will feature Peggy Carter as a super-soldier and more.
