Marvel Has Reportedly Begun Early Development On ‘Thunderbolts’

In the wake of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios may be bringing a new team to the MCU. According to MCU Cosmic, Marvel has begun early development on Thunderbolts.
It has been speculated for some time now that Marvel was developing a Thunderbolts film, but this report suggests we could soon see the team in the MCU. It is unclear if the project will come to fruition as a film or a series. Given Marvel Studios’ growing emphasis on Disney+, the latter is a possibility.
The Thunderbolt lineup has seen many incarnations in the comics, so it’s hard to say for who could potentially appear on the live-action team. It’s possible the roster features some past faces from the MCU, including villains like Ghost, Justin Hammer or Abomination.

Based on the recently surfaced set photos that featured Secretary “Thunderbolt” Ross on the set of Black Widow, this may suggest a post-credits stinger featuring the character beginning the recruiting process. Additionally, based on the fact Zemo will return to the MCU in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, this could mean he will also play a role in the Thunderbolts. For now though, chock all this up to speculation.
