This sequel should come at no surprise, considering the huge success of the first film last Christmas. Though it has also been rumored that an all Spider-Women movie spinoff movie starring Hailee Steinfeld’s Gwen Stacy is in the works.
Fans are hoping for more female characters (Jessica Drew’s Spiderwoman, especially) will be introduced in the upcoming sequel. Additionally, the post-credits scene of the first installment featured a cameo from Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, voiced by Oscar Issac. That moment led many to believe that he would play a big part in a potential sequel, which is finally coming to fruition.

With the SUMC ready to kick into high gear in the coming years, don’t be shocked if Jared Leto’s Morbius or Tom Hardy’s Venom sneak their way into the film.
