Warner Bros. and DC are currently in the midst of filming The Suicide Squad. According to Variety, Joel Kinnaman is having a great experience working on set with director James Gunn.
Kinnaman, who will be returning for a second stint as Colonel Rick Flag, praised Gunn’s script. The actor went to reveal that he is learning a lot and taking in the experience of working in a comedy. Check out what Kinnaman had to say about his experience on set:
[James Gunn is] an incredible guy. He’s written a fantastic script. It’s so funny. I feel like I’m shooting my first comedy. There are a lot of really funny people there. It’s like a learning experience. I’m around a lot of incredible funny people.”
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films are some of the most fun and heartwarming films in large part because of Gunn. When Disney fired the director from Vol. 3 for offensive tweets from ten plus years ago, he was quickly hired by Warner Bros. and DC to helm The Suicide Squad.
Before Gunn came on board, the future of Task Force X on the big screen was cloudy. However, The Suicide Squad has quickly become one of the most anticipated films for DC, especially after the disappointment of the 2016 film.
