‘Fresh Prince’ Spinoff Series In Development With Will Smith On Board As Producer

Will Smith is one of the most recognizable names in the world. His success with films like Men In Black, Bad Boys, & Suicide Squad has made him one of Hollywood’s hottest commodities. However, that success started as a history-making rap career. Smith would transition into acting with the ’90s sitcom The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. It is now being reported that a reboot of that series is in the works, and Smith is the driving force behind it.
Originally airing on NBC in the fall of 1990, the series produced 6 seasons. Due to its wide syndication, the show has gathered a large following over the last 20 years. Smith’s production company, Westbrook, Inc., will develop a spinoff of the critically-acclaimed series.
Following the lifestyle change of Smith’s character (also named Will Smith), The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air told the story of a high school kid moving from the hard-knock life of West Philadelphia to a wealthy, upper-class neighborhood in California. Additionally, the show’s theme song is one of the most well-known in television history.
