Marvel Is Beginning To Screen Test Actors For Titular Role In ‘Ms. Marvel’

Since the big reveal at D23 Expo back in August, Marvel Studios has slowly been moving towards production for the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel. Now, according to insider Daniel Richtman, Feige and co. are beginning to screen test actresses for the lead role of Kamala Khan.
Per Richtman, the actors testing for the role are reading a scene that references both the New Avengers and Inhumans. The description for the script has the actresses portraying Khan being interviewed by a “Cap.” However, it’s unclear whether that references Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers or Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson.
Also referenced is Terrigen Mist, a mutagen that’s able to alter Inhuman biology and provide them with superhuman gifts. The Inhumans are an important part of Khan’s story but don’t expect Black Bolt and Medusa to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe any time soon. After a disastrous first season of Inhumans on ABC, Marvel Studios will likely want to take their time to get it right with the Royal Family.

Due to the MCU packed film schedule, it’s possible we won’t see Ms. Marvel until at least 2022 on Disney+. Although, given the character’s importance in the pages of Marvel Comics, it should come as no surprise that Marvel Studios would begin testing this early. Late last month, reports began to surface claiming that Marvel was searching for a Pakistani–American actress between the ages of 16 and 24 for the role.
Are you looking forward to seeing Kamala Khan in her live-action debut on Disney+? Who do you want to see in the titular role? Let us know in the comments below!
