Rumor: Nova Is Set To Debut In The MCU During Phase 5

Back in June of this year, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told ComicBook.com that Nova could potentially appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, thanks to a new rumor from MCU Cosmic, the intergalactic hero could be joining the franchise as soon as the next few years.
The rumor suggests that Nova, AKA Richard Rider, would appear alongside heavyweights such as the already confirmed Blade and new recruits from the 21st Century Fox deal, the X-Men and Fantastic Four. This would indeed usher in an entirely new era for Marvel Studios.

Nova debuted within the pages of Marvel Comics in 1976. He was initially a member of the intergalactic police force the Nova Corps. Fans may remember them from 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Over the 40 year history of the character, he has teamed up with the Avengers on numerous occasions. In fact, Nova comes in at #19 on IGN’s list of the Top 50 Avengers.
At both the San Diego Comic-Con and Disney’s D23 Expo, Feige laid out a plan for Phase 4 of the MCU. It included films like Thor: Love and Thunder and Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. However, this phase of Marvel projects will also include TV series’ like Hawkeye and WandaVision on the Disney+ streaming service.
At this time, however, the only film currently set for Phase 5 is Black Panther 2, which will hit theaters in May 2020. This could suggest that Nova is set to play a big part in this section of the MCU.
