Badcasting Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’

Welcome to Badcasting! A way for you to kill time at work or something to read while ignoring your much more important responsibilities! Here, we take a look at past films or characters and reimagine them with different actors. This isn’t a reflection on the quality of the film or the talents of specific actors or actresses but instead looking at what could, and in some cases, should have been.
This week’s film: Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
The movie is currently being cast so all of these ideas are up for grabs, Mr. Reeves. We know how much of a Full Circle fan you are.
Batman – Terry Crews
This first one was tremendously easy. Bruce Wayne/Batman needs to have two distinct personas: the charismatic and charming billionaire Bruce Wayne; and the brooding, intimidating Batman. There is not one human being on this Earth that I am more charmed by, as well as terrified of than, Terry Crews.
Crews has made a name for himself in comedy with such movies and shows as Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Bridesmaids, Get Smart and your dad’s favorite Adam Sandler movie. One thing most people don’t know is he’s a huge comic-book fan and has been wanting to play a character for a while. He had the chance in Deadpool 2 but that role ended pretty abruptly. Let the man put on the cowl and brutally beat the shit out of Gotham’s criminals! And I mean BRUTALLY. Let a few actual death row convicts put on costumes and we can watch Terry take out any anger he may or may not have.
The Riddler – Jonah Hill
Per reliable sources, Jonah Hill might be up for The Riddler already! I can see this working perfectly; he can play a menacing trickster bent on bringing Gotham to its knees. His use of riddles to make Batman work extra hard is something we haven’t seen since the last time the character appeared on the screen.
The Penguin -Jonah Hill
Per reliable sources, Jonah Hill might be up for The Penguin already! I can see this working perfectly; he can play a menacing trickster bent on bringing Gotham to its knees. His use of penguins to make Batman work extra hard is something we haven’t seen since the last time the character appeared on the screen.
Bane – Jonah Hill
Per reliable sources, Jonah Hill might be up for The Bane already! I can see this working perfectly; he can play a menacing trickster muscular guy bent on bringing Gotham to its knees. His use of muscles to make Batman work extra hard is something we haven’t seen since the last time the character appeared on the screen.
He’s clearly got a better physique than Tom Hardy ever did.
Joker –
Walking Phoenix. F*#k it, Jonah Hill
With the upcoming Joker movie about to be released and receiving critical acclaim, it’s about time to get a new Joker. There’s really no casting choice OTHER than Jonah Hill. He’s got the edgy tats, the glasses, and while wearing those CLASSY shoes.
It’s hard not to hear him talking about “society,” and, man oh man, do we live in one.
Catwoman – Jonah Hill
Per reliable sources, Jonah Hill might be up for The Catwoman already! I can see this working perfectly; he can play a menacing trickster muscular guy leather-clad woman bent on bringing Gotham Batman to his knees. Her use of claws will make Batman work extra hard and that’s something we haven’t seen since the last time the character appeared on the screen.
Batman – I changed my mind, Jonah Hill
Per reliable sources, Jonah Hill might be up for…..you get it.
