Marvel Studios Casting Chinese-American Actress As A Secret Agent For Future Film

Following the Marvel panel at last month’s San Diego Comic Con, fans now have a good look at the future of the MCU. Discussing Film reported that Marvel Studios is looking to cast a Chinse-American female as a secret agent in their next phase of films.
While this certain casting report is ambiguous, Marvel Comics provides a plethora of possibilities of who this new character is and the impact she would have.
One option for the new character is Leiko Wu. Wu, an MI-6 agent, has crossed paths with Shang Chi several times. With Marvel aiming for an authentic Chinese film for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ring, a Chinese-American secret agent could possibly infiltrate the events of that film.
Another option could be Aero, who is a lesser-known Marvel character with aerokinesis abilities. She is currently starring in her own comic series.

Another film this new character could pop up in is Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. A lot of Strange’s mythos and inspiration spawns from eastern influences. If Marvel is looking to incorporate X-Men characters this soon, names like Jubilee and Sway come to mind.
Regardless of who they will be playing, this opens the door for actresses to join Chloe Bennet and Ming-Na Wen, two Chinese-American actresses who play currently secret agents in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
