Andy Serkis Set To Direct ‘Venom 2’

It was reported few weeks ago that Andy Serkis entered talks with Sony about directing the upcoming sequel of 2018’s Venom. As first reported by THR, that deal is done and Serkis is confirmed to helm the film.
Most known for his groundbreaking motion-capture roles in Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Planet of the Apes, Serkis is building quite the directing resume. He has previously assumed the director’s chair for Breathe and Netflix’s Mowgli. Additionally, this will be the second Marvel project Serkis takes part. He has previously appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther as Ulysses Klaue.
After Venom grossed almost $900 million in the worldwide box office, Sony gave the sequel the greenlight. Ruben Fleischer, the original film’s director, opted to choose Zombieland: Double Tap over Venom 2.
After news of the confirmation broke, Serkis took to social media to share his excitement for the project.
