‘Shang-Chi’ & ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ Expected To Film In Australia

Marvel Studios will be returning to Australia with two back to back film productions going into 2020, according to Variety.
Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Thor: Love and Thunder will be filmed in Sydney. Marvel Studios is no stranger to Australia as Thor: Ragnarok was the first Marvel production film there. They shot in Gold Coast, Queensland, but will move the productions over to Sydney at Disney’s recent acquisition, Fox Studios.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be the first of the back to back productions to shoot. Thor: Love and Thunder will begin pre-production in March of 2020, then production starts in August. Check out what Marvel Studios Vice President David Grant had to say about the back-to-back productions:
“Shooting Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Thor: Love and Thunder back to back will provide local crews with sustained [and] continuous employment opportunities. We will be working with local educational institutions in creating internship opportunities.”
NSW communications director David Fletcher revealed what Marvel will bring to Australia:
“Thor: Love and Thunder [and Shang-Chi are] expected to invest more than A$178 million ($124 million) in our economy, create up to 2,500 jobs and use the services of around 1,650 businesses.”
