Natalie Portman To Play Female Thor In ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’
In a huge surprise, it has just been revealed that Natalie Portman will return for the newly-titled Thor: Love And Thunder. During Marvel Studios’ panel at SDCC, Kevin Feige brought Portman on stage to confirm her role in the film.
Portman made her MCU debut as Jane Foster in 2011s Thor and went on to appear in Thor: The Dark World. Foster was also briefly mentioned in The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Earlier this year, Portman appeared in Avengers: Endgame using stock footage.
Many believed that Portman was done with her MCU appearances after reports surfaced she was furious about Patty Jenkins walking away from the director’s chair for Thor 2. That appears to be water under the bridge at this point as she will once again portray Jane Foster.
Thor: Love And Thunder will be inspired by Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor, which saw Jane Foster take on the mantle of the God of Thunder. The film we see the return of Taika Waititi’s Korg and Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie. Thor: Love And Thunder is slated to hit theaters November 5, 2021.
