Russo Brothers Announce Post-‘Avengers: Endgame’ Projects

Avengers: Endgame is currently on a plotted course for first on the list of highest grossing films of all time. Today, at their individual panel at San Diego Comic Con, the brothers announced what was next on their docket.
After fielding some questions from the audience about Community and Avengers: Endgame, the directing team then looked towards the future.
Joe and Anthony’s next feature-length film is Cherry. The film, which stars Tom Holland, was announced back in March and the team described it as “a story about the opioid crisis told in a very fascinating way set in Cleveland, Ohio where we grew up.”
Regarding the partnership with Netflix for a new series based on the popular card game Magic: The Gathering, Joe provided some hype to keep fans hanging on until the series premieres. “We’re geeks and we love Magic: The Gathering,” Joe said. “If you’re a fan of Jace or Chardra, get excited.”

The Russos have collectively directed the two highest grossing live-action comic book adaptations of all time with their Avengers films. Shortly after the release of the latter, the Russos are quick to jump back into this storytelling avenue “We’re producing Grimjack,” Joe said. “We could be directing Battle of the Planets.”
Grimjack is a comic book series based on John Gaunt. He is a former war veteran-turned-mercinary who travels between dimensions. Additionally, Battle of the Planets is a Japanese anime featuring a team of 5 teens called the G-Force. They protect the Earth from the deadly forces from outer space.
