Storm Reid Boards ‘The Suicide Squad’ As Idris Elba’s Daughter

WB has made another addition to their reimagining of Task Force X. According to The Wrap, up-and-coming actress Storm Reid is in talks to join James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad as the daughter of Idris Elba’s character.
Reid is best known for her role as Meg Murry in Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, starring Chris Pine and Oprah Winfrey. Her other credits include 12 Years a Slave, Netflix’s When They See Us, and HBO’s Euphoria. Next year, Reid will appear alongside Elisabeth Moss and Aldis Hodge in Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man.
When Elba first signed onto The Suicide Squad, he was meant to step into the role of Deadshot, which was left vacant after Will Smith decided he wouldn’t return for the sequel. However, after a change of heart, it was announced that Elba would be playing a new character. At this point, it’s still unclear who that character could be, but fan theories have ranged from a recast Deathstroke to Young Justice standout Sportsmaster.
