Joe Taslim Has Been Cast As Sub-Zero In ‘Mortal Kombat’

Casting for New Line’s upcoming Mortal Kombat film looks to be heating up or rather it may be cooling down because according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has cast its Sub-Zero.
THR has reported that actor and martial artist Joe Taslim has joined the upcoming video game adaptation. The film is being produced under James Wan’s Atomic Monster banner and will be the feature debut of director Simon McQuoid.
As of now, the plot of the movie is unknown other than that it will focus on the massive roster of fighters from different realms in the Mortal Kombat game. Greg Russo has penned the screenplay.
Sub-Zero is one of the original characters appearing in the original 1992 game. The actor has several ice-based abilities and has a long-standing rivalry with fellow fighter Scorpion. He is the first character to be officially cast in the film which will begin shooting in Australia later this year.
Taslim, made his feature debut in the action film The Raid. He has also appeared in Fast & Furious 6, Star Trek Beyond Netflix and most recently the Netflix feature The Night Comes for Us.
