Alan Scott Will Reportedly Appear In DC Universe’s ‘Stargirl’

Green Lantern may be making a return to live-action. According to insider Lance Ausfresser in the Stargirl Facebook group, Alan Scott is set to appear in DC Universe’s Stargirl.
Late last year, That Hashtag Show reported that Stargirl was looking to cast a character referred to as “Arthur Matlock,” who they speculated could be Scott. “Described as a powerful man, both through physique, mind, and heart, he is a kind individual who is quick with his fists whenever it is necessary. That also allows him to be a great husband to his wife Ruth and a great father to his baby son Ben.”
The original Green Lantern would join an already star-studded cast of comic characters set to appear in Stargirl. Hourman, Wildcat, S.T.R.I.P.E, Tigress, Sportsmaster, and Dragon King are all confirmed to appear, with Brainwave Jr., Artemis, Solomon Grundy, and Icicle Jr. rumored to have roles.

Created by Martin Nodell, Alan Scott first appeared in All-American Comics #16 in 1940. Acting as the first Green Lantern, he fought evil with the aid of a magical ring which grants him a variety of powers. Scott was a founding member of the Justice Society of America alongside Jay Garrick, Sandman, Spectre, Atom, and Hawkman.
