Once it’s a done deal, Henry will join a cast that already includes returning cast members Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, and newcomer Cillian Murphy. Krasinkski will return to direct the film. Plot details for A Quiet Place 2 are few and far between, but the project will continue the story of the Abbott family following the death of Krasinski’s Lee at the hands of the mysterious aliens.
When a sequel to A Quiet Place was said to be in devlopment, many questioned if one was necessary. At first, Krasinski himself didn’t seem keen on returning, but he was convinced otherwise. “I had this little idea that I thought of and my producer, again, was very smart and said, ‘Will you just write it down so I can give it to these filmmakers who are coming in to pitch?’ and I said, ‘Yeah’,” Krasinski explained on The Big Picture Podcast. “And then after like three weeks he was like, ‘Why don’t you just write this and then we’ll get another filmmaker?’ and of course Jedi mind-tricked me into signing on to the sequel.”
