*Cue Halo theme music*. Pablo Schreiber (First Man, American Gods) is set to join Showtime’s Halo series as Master Chief, as first reported by Entertainment Weekly.
Schreiber will be leading the video game adaption and his Master Chief will be specific to the TV series. Here’s a description of the show’s version of the iconic character:
“Earth’s most advanced warrior in the 26th century and the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity.”
Master Chief won’t be alone in this adventure as a supporting role has also been cast. In addition to the lead role, newcomer Yerin Ha joins as Quan Ah, “a shrewd, audacious 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Master Chief at a fateful time for them both.”
After years of development, Showtime is finally moving the highly-anticipated series forward with Kyle Killen (Awake) and Steven Kane (The Last Ship) serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Casting is a great sign that fans will finally see one of the most popular video games be adapted for the small screen.
