Rachel Weisz In Talks To Join Scarlett Johannson In ‘Black Widow’

Hot off her Oscar nomination for The Favourite, Rachel Weisz is circling a role in the MCU. According to Variety, the actress is in talks to join Scarlett Johannson in Black Widow.
Weisz would join a cast that already includes Johannson, Stranger Things star David Harbour, and up-and-comer Florence Pugh. The film is being helmed by Australian director Cate Shortland, with a script from Jac Schaeffer. Details on the plot of Black Widow are currently unknown.

Johannson has portrayed Natasha Romanoff since 2010s Iron Man 2 and has been a mainstay of the MCU ever since. She will play the character once again in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame, which is sure to shake up the current universe as we know it.
If you’re unfamiliar with Weisz’s body of work, she’s starred in critically acclaimed films such as The Lobster and The Lovely Bones. In 2011, Weisz married current Bond actor Daniel Craig.
