Marvel Studios has reportedly found their big bad for the highly anticipated Fantastic Four reboot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ralph Ineson has been tapped to play Galactus.
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1966, Galactus debuted in Fantastic Four #48. Once a space explorer from the universe before ours, Galactus merged with the Sentience of the Universe, which granted great cosmic powers at the cost of needing to devour whole planets to sustain himself. The villain is often accompanied by the Silver Surfer, who acts as his herald.

Ineson will star opposite Pedro Pascal’s Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby’s Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s The Thing. Additionally, he will be joined by Julia Garner, who was previously cast as a female Silver Surfer.
The British actor has appeared in films ranging from The Green Knight to, most recently, The First Omen. In addition to Fantastic Four, Ineson is set to appear in Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.
Matt Shakman is attached to helm the project with a screenplay from Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Filming is reportedly eyeing a Summer shoot for a 2025 release.
