Marvel Studios has finally found its Ben Grimm. The Bear star Ebon Moss-Bachrach has officially been tapped to star as The Thing in the highly anticipated Fantastic Four reboot.

Moss-Bachrach has been rumored for the role for some time, but this is the first official confirmation of his casting. The actor had previously noted that he could neither confirm nor deny his role in the film, so it is exciting for it to finally be official.

The film has faced a number of delays, the most recent one resulting from the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. With both situations resolved, filming is reportedly set to begin in the Summer of this year, with a projected release date of July 25, 2025.

Shakman is still attached to direct the film, with Avatar 2 scribe Josh Friedman tapped to pen the most recent script. Reports have circulated that the movie is undergoing rewrites prior to production, but that is yet to be officially confirmed.
