Milly Alcock & Meg Donnelly Finalists To Star In ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’
James Gunn’s DC Universe is nearing the end of its search for the Girl of Steel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Milly Alcock and Meg Donnelly are the finalists for the role and have screen-tested for Supergirl in Atlanta.
Supergirl will debut in Gunn’s Superman: Legacy before leading her own film in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. According to THR’s sources, screen tests for the highly sought-after role took place yesterday. Previously, Priscilla star Cailee Spaeny and CODA star Emilia Jones were in the mix for the part.

Alcock is best known for her role as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon. Donnelly has starred in the Disney Channel’s Zombies musicals but has already had a crack at the part of Supergirl, having voiced her in the current DC animated movies.
Whichever actress is tapped for the role will join an already stacked cast for Superman: Legacy. David Corenswet is set to play the titular Man of Steel alongside Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor.
James Gunn will write and direct the feature. Superman: Legacy will kick off the rebooted DCU for Warner Bros and share little to no connections with the preceding DCEU. DC Studios hopes to have Superman: Legacy filming in early 2024, in time for a July 11, 2025, release.
