RUMOR: ‘Transformers’ & ‘G.I. Joe’ Crossover Film In Development

It looks like Paramount Pictures is preparing to unite two of its biggest franchises. According to insider Daniel Richtman, a live-action Transformers & G.I. Joe crossover film is in development.

Richtman did not reveal if the film would be set in each of the franchises’ respective continuities or if this would be standalone. Each property belongs to Hasbro and has crossed over across other media over the years. Paramount producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura even said that a theatrical crossover between the two franchises was inevitable in July 2021.

As of now, the project is just in development, so it will most likely be some time before the studio provides any official updates. Richtman did not confirm any creatives attached to the film, so it seems likely the film is still just in the very early stages.

Transformers is set to release the latest film in the franchise with Rise of the Beasts in June. Meanwhile, Snake Eye: G.I. Joe Origins was released in July 2021.
