Ramirez made his MCU debut in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as an intelligence officer in the United States Air Force. It was heavily teased that he would take on the role of Falcon, and it seems that is indeed the case.
The film is set to focus on Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, who took on the Captain America mantle during the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Mackie’s Wilson will take on new threats in the film, including Harrison Ford’s President “Thunderbolt” Ross and the return of Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader.
Malcolm Spellman, creator and head writer of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is penning the script with Dalan Musson, who served as a staff writer on the show. Nigerian-American filmmaker Julius Onah, best known for his work on 2018’s The Cloverfield Paradox, has been tapped to direct.
