Meryl Streep Joins ‘Only Murders In The Building’ For Season 3

Season two of Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building was an even bigger hit than season one was and earned the cast and crew a bevy of nominations and rave reviews since its release. Now, it appears the series is looking to raise the stakes even further for season three. As first announced by Selena Gomez via the show’s social media platforms, cinematic icon Meryl Streep is joining the cast for the upcoming third season.

Streep joins Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, who will all reprise their co-starring roles from the previous seasons. Additionally, Paul Rudd, who briefly appeared in the season two finale, will return to the series as well.

Only Murders in the Building hails from John Hoffman and Steve Martin. Additionally, Gomez, Short, and Martin serve as executive producers along with This Is Us creators Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The series follows three unlikely allies who just happen to live in the same high-end apartment building in New York when a murder occurs. The three true-crime podcasts enthusiast start their own podcast detailing the murders and, eventually, solve the mysteries themselves. Tina Fey, Cara Delevingne, Jane Lynch, Shirley MacLaine, Amy Ryan, and Nathan Lane tout guest appearances in the series as well.
Meryl Streep is often described as “the best actress of her generation.” She has received numerous accolades throughout her career spanning over five decades, including a record 21 Academy Award nominations, winning three, and a record 32 Golden Globe Award nominations, winning eight. Most recently, Streep starred in films like Don’t Look Up and The Prom as well as TV shows like Big Little Lies. Up next for the legend is Apple TV’s anthology series Extrapolations.
